Earlier’s dresses redux

It’s been brought to my attention that some of you may be having viewing issues with my new three-bar-layout, if that’s so commenter Sian suggested this fix; (Firefox, but IE/Opera/Chrome is similar if you’re having the problem there too)
“I clicked on the view button at the top left corner and clicked Zoom – two times and now its perfect.”
I hope that helps (thanks Sian!) I wasn’t aware of any problem as it displays fine in my browser so thanks to the two who flagged it up for me.

Alright guys. I’m still feeling down but I’m better than I was before. So I’ve taken new pictures of those sleeveless/strapless dresses I showed you earlier. They’re both lovely, I’ll try to comment on them a bit more this time so sorry if I repeat myself.

Actually, first.. I burnt my head with straighteners trying to sort out my fringe :(

053 See that red mark? That was done on Monday, it’s now Thursday and it’s not got any better. At the time I didn’t think it was bad so didn’t run it under cold water – stupid Devon.

But that’s okay, because the fringe hides it anyway ;)

039

Really, I just wanted an excuse to post that picture because it’s a really good one.

Anyway, the two dresses..

009

The black bow ponti bandeau dress – again. This dress is lovely, the material is weighty but not so much that it’s too heavy or falls down. It’s the perfect weight to just stay in place, which is brilliant. It sits close to the skin (as you can probably tell by my bumps) and is really comfortable. No issues moving, I can jump up and down in it and nothing comes out, perfect length for me aswell.

Just out of interest, am I the only fat girl who has issues with the back of strapless things? I feel like I’m constantly pulling them up because they roll down or slip at the back. It’s not a problem because it doesn’t take long to pull them back up but it is a little annoying. This isn’t just with these dresses, it’s with all strapless things I own actually so don’t blame Asos.

014

I really like exposed zips at the moment so the back is lovely :D I have back fat so usually it’s usually more bumpy with rolls but I straightened out so you could see the zip better.

007

Here’s a closeup on the bow. It’s hard to get a good picture of details on a black dress without using flash. I hate using flash because it is never true to colour.

005

And here’s another one for the hell of it.

026

I had a great response from you guys when I posted this dress, it’s lovely isn’t it? It’s the cotton hitch dress in pink, it has a slip which isn’t too clingy or annoying underneath, just enough to make you feel a bit more secure. It again fits perfectly over my smaller breasts as that was my main worry with these two dresses. I speak to Vanessa a lot when I need to find out about how things fit and she recommended I tried them as I get free courier returns anyway.. Luckily I didn’t need to return them. She was relieved as she is bigger up top than I am, but it’s great to know that they fit both larger and smaller chested girlies alike.

018

No zip at the back here but an elasticated panel instead.

Now I took quite a few pictures of this dress because it’s so fun! So here’s some more :P

025
016
017

As you can see, I managed to tie the bow a bit better this time! A bit, but not too well still :( I need more practice.

And here’s a closeup of the bow area.

So, good? Yes. AWESOME.

Thanks Devon for telling us how to solve the viewing-of-blog problem. I thought it was just me (and I didn’t mention it) but kinda glad someone did. :)

    Onto the clothes.
Well, as I’ve already said in the I love ASOS Curve club, I’m relieved about the bust. I can’t help also feeling a little tingle of satisfaction because there is a lady who is not on the team but sometimes comes into help us, and as lovely as she is she can’t help make comments about how my bust is BIG, bigger than average, big big big.I’ve had these all my teen and adult life, I know I have large puppies, it’s not like I don’t know. LOL
The other day I kindly mentioned that there were women with much larger boobs. So yes, I like to hear that these strapless numbers work just as well! It’s all the stitching tricks they use. Fab.

The back of the black one is really flattering. I personally don’t have problem with dress shift, once it’s there it’s staying. You may want to invest in some of this http://bit.ly/b9jmri You may need help from your beau to stick the back down if you use it. I’ve not tried it but it may be worth a go.

The bow is better – lol The technique will get better the more you wear the dress if you want wear it like that.

Thanks so much for sharing :)

No worries, I didn’t even know it was happening.

Bless you and your bigger breasts, I’m sure you’ve realised that yourself by now but she sounds sweet :D You know if Asos needed a model with smaller boobs I’m so free for that ;) Haha. I think it’s fab too, I’m so, so, so happy with these dresses <3 You can tell I'm sure.
Ah "tit tape," I do need to invest in some and I did think of that :) I'll get some and see how it goes.
You can show me how to do better bows come the blogger meet, hopefully ;) x

Ouchies! I’ve had the dreaded straightening iron burn! I’ve actually been silly enough to clip my ear! I love your hair too! I didn’t comment on the previous post, but it’s amazing how much confidence a trim & dye can give you! You’ve inspired me to try and grow my hair!

Both dresses are gorgeous!! I always have trouble with the back of zips for dresses [not just strapless] but i thought that was the boobs more than the fat haha. So i stopped wearing strapless without a cardi over it [just incase]

    :)

hope your head heals quick :P xxx

Looking good. That fringe really does you wonders. Does it hurt up there? I burnt my arm one time so I can’t imagine burning my forehead with a straightener.. ouch.

Don’t worry, with strapless dresses it happens to me too.

hello, i’m visiting from definatalie’s links across the bloggiverse

i am fascinated by your tattoo.. it looks pretty but i can’t quite get entire image of it..

do you have a blog post about the tat? if not, do one!

    • Fat Nurse
      Posted May 2, 2010 at 8:58 pm | Permalink

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to comment. My tattoo gets quite a bit of attention :D If you go to the very end of this post you’ll be able to see it better: http://fat-nurse.com/2010/02/09/so-asos-curve-we-meet-again-also-some-new-bits-from-tesco/
However I didn’t post quite the whole thing as it ends about an inch away from my nipple and chickened out with the full photo. It’s meant to be a magpie (my favourite animal, they fascinate me) in a tribal style, I had it designed just for my use so it’s unique. The symbols (Oghams) on the necklace she’s carrying are Ogham (Ioho and Muin,) meaning loosely freedom/truth and strength/emotion.

That’s more info than you’d ever need to know about my tattoo, but it has a lot of meaning! :P Thank you for being interested and visiting ^-^ xx

Edit: I have a full pic of it from when it was first done here, but since then it has been touched up (as you can see on the photo in the post I just listed) because that was literally about 5 hours after I got it: http://pyratus.deviantart.com/art/My-first-tattoo-tribal-Magpie-129952513

That black dress is so amazing Devon. I am posting my first ASOS dress I bought because of you this weekend. x.

I actually can’t really do strapless… it isn’t because I don’t have the right bra, it is because of how strapless clothes move on my body. Very frustrating, I always have to make sure that things come with “optional, attachable” straps.

    Do the Curve dresses?

    x.

Unfortunately Em, no they don’t. I was worried about that too and a little annoyed that they didn’t. However, if you have 15 minutes and some spare fabric/clear elastic you can easily sew on your own straps, even making them detachable, like I did with my jumpsuit from Jen’s Fashion Plus (the entry has a little tutorial if you need it :D) xx

      • Posted May 9, 2010 at 8:26 pm | Permalink

I KNOW the entry… It is a good idea… mind you I have plenty of straps, so maybe it is a case of buying the clips and attaching them. MIght be something I will bring up to Vanessa as a suggestion though. x.

Perhaps straps and clips will be your best bet here, but if you mention the strap idea to Vanessa I’m behind you all the way. The Beth Ditto stained glass dress had detachable straps which were brilliant and didn’t take anything away from the dress itself, so I’m with you on this xx
