LucieLu, plus size design boutique review!

I’ve been looking around at the more obscure designers for a while now and came across LucieLu, which specialises in plus size, on-trend fashion. I’ve had my eye on her site but when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it.. I chose to review this dress, her “Nautical Girl” dress. I couldn’t resist!

It has everything that I like. Some ruffles, an empire waist, a cute design, a zip on the bust (I love styles that have zips there,) and it’s VERY comfortable. I had a few comments on it today and I absolutely love it.

You can see the anchor clearer here, how cute is that?!

The bust is my favourite part of the dress. I love the ruffles, I love the contrast on the zip, I love the zip itself..
The fit is true to size, I got this in a 2X. It fits fairly snugly around the breasts, which means that if you have a large bust it may be hard to have the zip done all the way up (but hey, the zip means variable cleavage so that’s not necessarily a bad thing,) and from the empire line right through to the A-line skirt it fits lovely. If you’re worried about your bumps or belly showing in this dress, don’t! It hides the squishy bits while retaining your natural shape.

As for wearability? I wore it today to placement and I’m still in it at the moment, it’s not lost shape, stretched or broken, the zip hasn’t moved all day and the shoulders are nice and think straps which haven’t budged either!

Overall, this dress is fantastic and I would most definitely recommend that you check out Lucie’s shop.

The shoes are the ones I bought from Evans on Saturday, they’re fairly normal but they have a cute little lace at the back;

    Cute dress! I used to buy a lot from Benina & Lu… I think they were partners but split up? The original store must be like 10 years old I think. I think it was one of my very first online order and I was so happy. lol Memories. ;)

    I like the bust ares of the dress. Also it has sweet colors, but I am a bit unsure about the skirt part… I do not like the lenght hmmm don’t know. But that is just what I would think about if I wanted to buy it.
    You look great in it!

      She has lots of similar dresses at different lengths, there’s a lovely green one that I have my eye on at the moment.

      Thank you, I agree, it’s one of the very few dresses that doesn’t swamp my breasts but actually enhances my shape :D

    Oh, thanks a lot for posting this, not only your dress is beautiful but also by going to the site I discovered they ship worldwide :D That really is good news, very few plus size stores do so.
