Moved to London! (Pic heavy, plus Achica Homeware review)

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I’ve been so busy lately. I moved to London about a month ago, that went quite well, but I’ve been sorting out bills, had a funeral to attend, had my graduation, and now I’m starting my new job on Monday – yay!

Flat and Graduation!

I thought I’d share some pictures of my new flat anyway, and a quick mention of Achica Homewares, too, as I managed to get some bits from there to help furnish the flat (a pedestal mat for my sink, a bath mat for coming out of the bathroom and three giant, 100% Egyptian cotton towels, which are so fluffy I might just die.)
If you don’t know, Achica are a members-only discount “luxury lifestyle store.” Basically, you sign up to them (free,) and then they will send you emails, or you can look on their site, which will have times and dates of the items they’re putting on offer. They have a certain amount and a certain timeframe for you to buy these items, though I’ve seen a few companies come up more than once (such as Joseph Joseph, a luxury cooking/bakeware accessories brand,) so usually if you miss out you can check their calender to see the next time they’ll be on offer. These sites seem to be increasing in popularity, which is actually quite a good thing, because I like getting expensive stuff for cheap – who doesn’t?!
Anyway, on to the pictures;

When I went on the Achica website the offer that caught my eye was from a brand called Osman. They do nice Egyptian cotton towels and bathroom accessories, I thought I’d try them out because towels were something I needed to get anyway, so why not get some good ones? I have to say, I’m quite impressed.

I also bought a bath mat and a pedestal mat to go around my sink basin, because the bathroom tiles can be pretty cold and slippery if you get them wet. You can see in the bathroom picture above, click to see a bigger version, but the pedestal has little squiggly worm-like bits that feel really nice on my feet.
I chose to get the towels in Mojito colour, which is a nice light green, I love green (as you can probably tell from the other photos and my blog’s colour scheme,) so I couldn’t resist. I got them in bath sheet size; which I’ve shown with one on my bed above; because I love being able to wrap the whole towel around me and chill for a while after I have a bath/shower, and I’m really glad I did. Due to the softness of the towels they are very comfortable to sit around in if you’re waiting for your hair to dry or just don’t want to get dressed yet. The fluffiness has not changed despite washing and tumble drying a few times, yay!

And here’s me graduating;

Flat and Graduation!
Flat and Graduation!

Yes, my uni’s colours are blue and yellow – I felt very Harry Potter, I’d be a Ravenclaw anyway so they would have been my house colours if I were a witch! I also felt Batman-ish, those gowns are HEAVY, you don’t realise until it’s on. Also, the hats suck. Tip for anyone who is/will be graduating: BRING SAFETY PINS. Safety pins are important to keep the cape (the royal blue and yellow part) in the correct place, as it will likely not be attached to the robe. You’ll also need hair grips/clips, because the hat WILL fall off, especially if it’s windy!

And, just to prove, anyone in Essex who gets the Chronicle;

Flat and Graduation!

I did get my first, by the way.
New job starts on Monday, qualified Mental Health Nurse! Bloody hell.
